There’s no better way to find out if a school is right for you than to hear it from your peers.

"I was fortunate enough to have Rob Wood as my instructor during my commercial pilot training and I cannot praise him highly enough. In my opinion Rob’s piloting skills are matched only by his teaching skills. His ability to identify and understand individual learning styles meant I could get the most out of every minute in the air and on the ground, which enabled me to fulfill my potential and gain my pilot licence. Rob tailors his flight training to the individual needs of the student, ensuring that they not only reach the necessary skill level required for the flight test, but that they surpass it. Rob’s professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm to flight training is inspirational. Learning to fly is hard work, but my training with Rob was an immensely satisfying and enjoyable experience and I have not yet met a student who would disagree (or failed a flight test!). I chose the Fraser Valley as the best geographical environment and the Bell 47 as the best machine to learn on. It was a lucky coincidence that I got Rob as my instructor, and I would recommend that anyone thinking of training do so with PHT."
Steve Conlin

"In 2006 I had the opportunity to get my commercial helicopter licence with Rob Wood. His dedication is first and foremost focused on his students’ success.

Ground school and operational training go far beyond the standard requirements at PHT. Students have the opportunity to learn and experience helicopter maintenance first-hand. Students are taught about maintenance requirements and what is involved in properly maintaining helicopters. Students are taken into the field for hands-on operational training. Pre- and post-flight briefings are thorough and professionally presented. Rob’s passion and enthusiasm for flying and instructing is clear, as he spends time with his students on the ground to ensure they have an understanding of the working helicopter environment.

PHT’s onboard video recording accelerates learning, allowing for early completion of the Transport Canada requirements and a greater focus on operational training. In the air Rob displayed a great ability to identify and adapt to each individual. His calm, professional demeanor makes for a positive learning atmosphere. With Rob’s vast experience, he is able to tailor training flights into working situations. Rob teaches techniques that create a safe and solid foundation for flying, and with the progression of the course these techniques are applied to more critical aspects of flying.

Now that I have had the opportunity to fly the R22, the S300 CBI, the Bell 47 G2, and the Bell 206, I found the Bell 47 G4 to be the most effective training helicopter. Having been fortunate enough to have Rob as an instructor, the Bell 47 G4 to train in, and the addition of the onboard video recording, I received a training package that no other school offers. I am grateful and I appreciate all the time Rob spent with us students, as we are now well-prepared for our careers."

"We’re very proud and pleased that our son chose to train and graduate from Premier Helicopter Training in his hometown of Pitt Meadows. PHT has proven they are second to none. Our thanks go to Rob Wood for all the extra time and effort that he put in to make our son such a confident and eager pilot. Your knowledge and caring attitude has given our son a lot of extra training. What a great gift! Thank You."

"I want to thank you for all the hard work you put into training me. I am now PPC'd (not even 6 months out of flight school) and super happy working for TRK! I would not be in this position without your help. Any success I have had so far directly relates to you preparing me for work through your apprenticeship program. I love my new career and you are a huge part of it."
