Welcome to your new career.

Are you ready for a
reality check?

We’re not going to lie to you.
Training to become a helicopter pilot is a tough and expensive goal, but if you have decided that this is the life for you, and if you truly want this as a career, then we’ll do all we can to support you. Having the guts to make this first major decision only proves that you are the type of person who will flourish in a career that routinely requires its pilots to call upon their courage and their convictions, because this job isn’t for weak-minded people.

This job is about wearing dirty coveralls.
It’s about heavy boots and gloves and dirt. It’s about pumping your own fuel and washing your own helicopter. It’s about living in the bush in remote locations all by yourself. It’s about being away from your family and friends for long periods. It’s about being responsible for the lives of your clients and to the businesses that place their trust in you. There is no glamour to this job, no matter what anyone tries to sell you. If you want glamour or flash, go to Hollywood, because you won’t last long.

There are great things about this job.
After all, you get to fly a helicopter for a living! And, if you train hard and work hard, then you will get self-satisfaction and fulfillment. If you show yourself to be a reliable pilot, then your crew will respect you. If you work efficiently and safely, then companies will hire you and will pay you very well.

As a helicopter pilot, you are not merely someone who operates the machine.
You are a tool for a job, and because helicopters are so expensive to hire ($450 to $10,000 per hour plus fuel and taxes), you will be a last resort kind of service. For that reason it’s imperative that you be on top of your game, because if you cost your clients a ton of cash, they’re not going to hire you again. We’ll teach you to navigate the business aspect of your career so that you are prepared for the realities of the market.
