Success means working as a helicopter pilot.
We have the keys to unlock your potential.
At PHT, we believe there are four keys to successful training. These four keys are the most important aspects of any flight school or program, and are the elements that will result in a well-rounded and complete education. They are:
#1: Your Instructor
The standards at any flight school are automatically set by the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI), and the overall teaching style and effectiveness of learning is based upon this one person's skill and dedication. If the CFI cares enough to cultivate a well-balanced training program, then you will have an easier time finding work when you're finished. You need the right instruction in order to convince employers that you have the right training to make it in the industry.
At PHT, the CFI is Rob Wood. The real deal, Rob has worked extensively as a helicopter pilot, and his priority is to safely and effectively teach you how to do the job. His reputation and dedication to educating new pilots, as well as his innovative teaching style, help make PHT a leader in helicopter flight training. Learn about Rob Wood
#2: Your Helicopter
Why is the helicopter you learn to fly in important? Think about it. If you learn on a sub-standard helicopter then you are not learning to fly with the best of them. Learning to fly on a helicopter that does not realistically simulate the commercial machines currently working in the industry places you at a competitive disadvantage. What's more, some training helicopters used by other schools are simply not capable of reproducing the real-world conditions you will encounter as a working pilot, and if you can't train for the real word, what are you training for? PHT uses the Bell 47 G4 because we believe it is the best, most powerful training helicopter available, and because it has the capability and ruggedness to withstand the training maneuvers new pilots must learn, all while taking advantage of the unique terrain our training area is famous for. #3: Your Training Program
We think the reason for why your training program is important to your career success is pretty obvious, but in case we haven't made our case strongly enough, here goes: If you want to work, you have to learn. If you want to learn, you have to train with people who actually care if you are learning everything you need to know. At PHT, we actually care. We care so much that we have taken the time to develop teaching tools and techniques designed to elevate your learning process above those at other schools and to provide you with an intense reality-based education that gives you the edge over other new pilots. #4: Your Training Area
The area you train in is vitally important to your flight education because experience is only what you've seen. That means if you train in an area where you are flying around in the same spot over and over again, there is a limit to what you can learn. The best training area has a diverse topography and challenging weather conditions that continually put you and your skills to the test. The more you have to adapt to and plan for your environment, the more you are going to learn. Learn about our training area
